BBC. https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20191205-film-in-the-2010s-the-decade-that-changed-cinema-forever

Cinema is an ever-changing art. It follows technology but also politics and events going on all around the world at any given time. The 2010s have been a particularly revolutionary decade in the film industry and this article details everything from the ruthless take over of the industry by Netflix which has only been officially around since 2010 and has only been producing movies and series since 2015, to the newly found diversity in casting, both in race and gender and back around to the superheroes and Disney characters which have shaped movies in the last years.

The process is complicated and the equipment is delicate.

Platt College. A Breakdown of the Visual Effects Used in the Star Wars Franchise. Platt College Website. https://platt.edu/blog/a-breakdown-of-the-visual-effects-used-in-the-star-wars-franchise/

The Star Wars franchise has seen many types of effects over the years which makes sense because its movies have come out over 42 years. The first trilogy, which began in 1977, was full of practical effects. They used scale models, puppets and sets for each special effect, making the movie feel extremely authentic and though some find it dated, I find it fascinating. The second and third trilogy are all about CGI though the third is much more advanced and realistic than the second.
